Join me on the adventure of a lifetime!
I've been pursuing adventure my whole life. From world-famous trails to pristine wilderness and across all manner of adventure sports, I'm passionate about immersive experiences.
Whether it's just for an hour, or weeks at a time, the goal is the same; living life to the fullest in Nature's Playground.
It's not just about having a great time, real adventures grow us into better versions of ourselves.
Each month I share stories and insights from my outdoor adventures, past and present.
The Story So Far…
I grew up in Western Australia with a passion for exploring wild places.
Starting in my own backyard, I first checked off some of the State’s most iconic trails; The Cape to Cape Track, The Bibbulmun Track and The Munda Biddi Trail.

As my experience grew, I took on more remote challenges; hiking the Murchison River Gorge and Stirling Ridge Walk, as well as mountain biking and kayaking all over the state.

In 2023 I spent a year exploring the Ningaloo Reef and further north into the Kimberley.

Then over the summer of 2023/2024 I fulfilled a long held dream to travel to Tasmania. This 3 month long camping trip was packed full of adventure as we visited exciting places and friendly people across the country.

Now, emboldened by our experience over the summer, Leanne and I have taken up a semi-nomadic lifestyle back in the South West. Where we are re-visiting our favourite places from more than a decade of adventures!

Xander
As the writer and namesake for this newsletter you'll find me in every story.
A ‘jack of all trades’ in the outdoors, I enjoy many adventure sports and have worked across the industry too. My background includes Outdoor Education, Trail Building, and Camp Management. I believe playing outside is for everyone, you've just got to find what works for you.
Leanne
My wife and number one adventure buddy.
I met Leanne in 2014 and we've been adventuring together ever since. A person of extremes, Leanne enjoys an adrenaline rush just as much as finding a good place to sit.
Leanne loves connecting with other people outside.
Jonno
My original adventure buddy. Jonno was there when it all started; two teenagers on camp in the Walpole Wilderness.
Jonno features in a lot of my stories, especially the misadventures. These days we live far apart, but still get together for a new adventure once or twice a year.
Jonno's favourite thing is a contemplative walk along a babbling brook.
